Memory Café
Memory Café
The Memory Cafe program supports residents living with dementia and their care partners. Residents will find new friendships and support through a variety of activities centered on education, art, dance and music therapy.
Memory Café encourages caregivers and those with dementia to spend more time out and about in the community. The Memory Cafe will provide opportunities for adults impacted by dementia and the family members who care for them to engage with others within their community. It will be a safe and comfortable space where caregivers and their loved ones can socialize, listen to music, play games, and enjoy other appropriate activities. They provide mutual support and exchange information.
“The Center of Concern Memory Cafe is beneficial to those afflicted with dementia and is also beneficial for their caregivers as well. It is not a place to “drop off” your loved one for a while, but is a way to enjoy actives with them as a break from the normal routine”, said John McNabola, Executive Director of the Center of Concern.
